Scotland To Germany

Hello,
We still follow this site with interest although we have sold our B&B on the Isle of Skye, we now live in the Black Forest. We have a small hotel www.pension-williams.de
What a change to work with the local council, tourist board etc. rather than fighting them!.
All guests have to pay a local tourist tax (1.30€ in summer & .80€ in winter) but we get well marked footpaths,a full programme of events & FREE bus & train travel in most of the Black Forest.
The local mayor takes pride in the village & the promotion thereof.
Best of all the property prices are about half of those in the UK.
Forget visitscotland.com head over here!!

Sounds as though you have a Destination Management Organisation  type of set up there. There are plans afoot to bring in a similar scheme in my part of the Cairngorms, although it's slow getting started. I shall have packed up my B&B business before anything really gets going, all they do at the moment is talk, talk, talk.

Good luck with everything. Your website does you proud!

Yeah, but there it is called «common sense» and «self-government». Here «Quangos-where-nobody-knows-what-the-others-do» and «Stalinism-combined-with-blackmail».

5 years younger and I would follow Seefeld sooner than later.
